Ramadan Recipe: Crispy Beef Briouates

Ingredients:

  • 10 brick pastry sheets (or phyllo dough)
  • 300g ground beef
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

1. In a pan, sauté the chopped onion in a little oil. Add the ground beef and season with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
2. Remove from heat, add the beaten egg and chopped parsley, and mix well.
3. Cut the brick pastry sheets into strips. Place a spoonful of the filling at one end and fold into a triangle shape.
4. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy.
5. Serve hot with a side of harissa sauce or yogurt dip.
